Breastfeeding Support

The best start for you and your baby

Breast milk provides all the nutrition your baby needs in their first 6 months and boosts their ability to fight illness and infection.

Breastfeeding is great for both you and your baby; it helps build a strong bond and is good for your baby’s overall health. But, as with anything new, it’s something you need to learn how to do and it’s normal to experience the odd set back.

Visit the Start for Life website for helpful information and sign up to receive weekly videos and advice.

Women can contact their midwife or health visitor for infant feeding information and support.

There is lots of information to be found on the NHS UK website: Breastfeeding the first few days.

Best start in life information for the NHS can be viewed at:  Best start in life
